SEA Europe has been selected as a member of the High‑Level European Ocean Board, a body established by the European Commission to advise on the implementation of the European Ocean Pact. This is a meaningful development for maritime industry stakeholders, as the Pact will coordinate policies affecting shipping, shipbuilding and the broader blue economy.

In parallel, SEA Europe is considering a dedicated working group on fisheries and aquaculture. The initiative could expand industry input into the Energy Transition Partnership and cover topics such as fleet renewal, financing, regulation and green technologies.

Why it matters for industry

  • potential project and order opportunities for shipyards and suppliers;
  • alignment with EU priorities on decarbonization and digitalization;
  • earlier access to discussions on funding mechanisms and support schemes;
  • greater visibility for regional capabilities within maritime value chains.

Direct involvement in these forums can speed up integration with EU programs. For companies active in fisheries and aquaculture, a dedicated working group could become a practical channel for influence and collaboration.
